THE MOVEMENT ISN'T OVER...
IT'S BECOMING UNWEARY.
UNWEARY
A Call to Justice and Righteous Action for the Modern Activist
Justice requires more than passion—it requires perseverance.
UNWEARY is a call to lead with courage, serve with purpose, and remain steadfast in the work of creating lasting change.
Why This Book?
For decades, I have had the privilege of serving alongside union members, faith leaders, community advocates, and everyday people who refused to accept injustice as the final word. I've witnessed victories, setbacks, sacrifices, and moments that tested even the strongest among us.
One lesson has remained constant: the work of justice is never finished, and those called to it must learn to persevere.
UNWEARY is the culmination of those experiences. It was written to encourage today's activists, tomorrows leaders, and anyone who believes that lasting change begins with ordinary people willing to remain faithful to an extraordinary purpose.
But I have also learned something equally important: perseverance alone is not enough.
Those who dedicate their lives to serving others must also learn the value of rest, reflection, and renewal. The strongest leaders are not those who never grow tired—they are those who understand when to pause, restore their strength, and return with renewed purpose. Rest is not retreat. It is preparation for the work that still lies ahead.
If this book reminds even one person to stand when it would have been easier to sit, to speak when it would have been easier to remain silent, to rest when renewal is needed, or to continue when it would have been easier to quit, then it has fulfilled its purpose.
Why “UNWEARY?”
Justice is not a sprint—it is the work of generations. Along the way, even the most committed leaders can become discouraged, exhausted, or overwhelmed. I have seen activists carry the weight of their communities, union members fight tirelessly for fairness, and ordinary people give everything they had for causes they believed in.
I chose the title UNWEARY because our movements need more than passion—they need perseverance. But perseverance is not the same as endless striving. It also requires wisdom. It requires knowing when to pause, reflect, heal, and rest so that we can return stronger for the work that still lies ahead.
UNWEARY is not a call to burnout.
It is a call to sustainable leadership—to remain faithful to the work of justice without losing ourselves in the process.
The goal is not simply to stay busy.
The goal is to stay committed.
To stay healthy.
To stay prepared for the long journey toward lasting change.
Because the movement doesn't need exhausted heroes.
It needs UNWEARY leaders.
Is UNWEARY for You?
My Christian faith has profoundly shaped my life and my understanding of justice, leadership, perseverance, and service. UNWEARY is written through that lens because it is the foundation from which I live and lead.
At the same time, this book welcomes everyone who is committed to justice, compassion, servant leadership, and the belief that ordinary people can make an extraordinary difference. Whether your motivation comes from faith, personal conviction, or a desire to build stronger communities, I hope these pages encourage you to lead with courage, persevere with purpose, and continue the work of creating lasting change.
Justice is not reserved for one profession, one organization, one race, one generation, or one faith tradition. It calls each of us to use our gifts in service to others. My hope is that UNWEARY equips readers from every background to remain steadfast, to embrace both perseverance and healthy rest, and to continue building a more just and compassionate world.

Foreword
Claude Cummings Jr.
“A movement is strongest when many voices are committed to one purpose.”
— Claude Cummings Jr.
President, Communications Workers of America
In his foreword to UNWEARY, Claude Cummings Jr. reminds us that lasting change is never the work of one person alone. It is built by ordinary people who unite around a shared purpose, persevere through challenges, and remain committed to the pursuit of justice. His words set the tone for the journey that follows and underscore the importance of leadership rooted in service, courage, and collective action.

"The greatest threat to a movement is not opposition—it is exhaustion. Movements are not sustained by the loudest voices or the most visible leaders. They are sustained by ordinary people who make a daily decision not to quit."
Celida “Celi” Soto
Neighbor, Dreamer & Community Engineer
"Movements require both courage and care. Effective organizing is not simply fighting harder, but reinforcing communities to outlive the fighting phases."
Camika Shelby
Founder, The Nigel Shelby Foundation
"Being unweary does not mean we never become tired, discouraged, or heartbroken. It means we refuse to allow those experiences to silence us."
Rev. Carolyn Foster
Director of Faith-Based & Community Engagement, Greater Birmingham Ministries
St. Mark's Episcopal Church
"Remaining unweary is not about never becoming tired; it is about refusing to give up on God's vision of justice, dignity, and beloved community."
Rev. Dr. Ramone R. Billingsly
Pastor, Oasis of Hope Church
"Justice is not self-executing. Freedom advances because ordinary people decide they will no longer accept extraordinary injustice."
Meet the Author
For more than three decades, Errol D. Minor has dedicated his life to serving others through leadership, advocacy, and community engagement. His journey has taken him from union organizing and leadership development to civil rights, human rights, and grassroots initiatives, always guided by the belief that lasting change begins with ordinary people who are willing to stand for what is right.
As a trainer, speaker, organizer, and author, Errol has worked alongside workers, faith leaders, community advocates, and emerging leaders to build power, defend rights, and strengthen communities. His work has equipped individuals and organizations to lead with integrity, organize with purpose, and serve with compassion.
Rooted in his Christian faith while welcoming readers from every background, Errol believes that justice is both a calling and a responsibility. Throughout his years of service, he has witnessed extraordinary victories, difficult setbacks, and the quiet perseverance of people who refused to surrender their commitment to a better future.
Those experiences shaped UNWEARY.
More than a book, UNWEARY reflects a philosophy of leadership grounded in courage, resilience, humility, and hope. It reminds us that the pursuit of justice is not a sprint—it is the work of generations. While perseverance is essential, so is rest. The strongest movements are not sustained by exhausted people who never pause, but by leaders who understand that moments of rest, reflection, and renewal prepare us to continue serving with wisdom, strength, and purpose.
Errol's hope is that every reader will be encouraged not only to stand for justice, but to lead in a way that is sustainable for a lifetime. Because changing the world is not about burning ourselves out—it is about faithfully continuing the work, one generation after another.
"The goal is not simply to work harder. The goal is to remain faithful, remain healthy, and remain UNWEARY."
"Justice is not sustained by extraordinary people. It is sustained by ordinary people who refuse to grow weary." — Errol D. Minor
